Usage Instructions

  • Wear the nylon strap around your neck to keep the ice claws accessible in an emergency.
  • Position the ice claws so they hang close to your neck.

Emergency Procedure:

  1. If you fall through the ice, stay calm.
  2. Remove the ice claws from their holster.
  3. Hold one in each hand with spikes facing down.
  4. Reach forward, stab both claws into the ice, and kick your legs to lift them onto the surface.
  5. Pull yourself horizontally out of the water and onto the ice.
  6. Do not stand up immediately!
  7. Roll away from the edge or drag yourself using the claws until the ice is strong enough.
  8. Once confident, rise to your hands and knees, and proceed cautiously until standing is safe.
  9. Always move back in the direction you came from.
  10. Quickly change out of wet clothing or seek warmth as soon as possible.
